I painted this from up near the car park at Daymer Bay, St Enodoc church with its crooked spire nestled in behind the sand dunes and the bulky flank of Brea Hill. I am particularly happy with the feeling of warmth and bright sunshine. At the time I was whimsically thinking I might title the picture cows grazing above Daymer Bay (they are there, just visible on the skyline) but a guy wandered up the beach carrying an inflatable dinghy of the most beautiful intense turquoise/blue which made all the other colours sing and that nailed the title for me.
