If you take the coastal path northwards from Padstow you will ascend a gentle slope up to the war memorial; just beyond here the view opens out towards Stepper Point and the open sea and it is one of Cornwall’ loveliest views. I’ve painted it in late summer colours with the sea calm and turquoise where it runs shallow over the almost white sand of St George’s Cove.
