Looking out towards the sea from Bayard’s Cove on a fine calm morning the silhouette of Dartmouth Castle and St Petroc’s Church can be clearly seen at the mouth of the river. In this painting I paid particular attention to the placing of the small boats and their reflections in the water that bring such a sense of tranquillity to the scene.
