I remember coming across this view for the first time when I came to live in Devon after returning from Australia and I still find it inspiring. Slapton Sand runs almost due south and dead straight for two miles from Strete Gate to Torcross protecting the fragile nature reserve of the ley from the sea. I have curved the path in the foreground to lead the eye into the picture and included two soaring birds to hint at the imagined flight that could be taken above the beach and all the way to Start Point off in the blue distance.
